Passive Measures Before Heat Pump

External shading is a highly effective and energy-efficient solution for managing indoor temperatures. By blocking solar radiation before it enters a building, external shading prevents heat build up, reducing the need for mechanical cooling.

Unlike heat pumps, which consume electricity to remove heat, shading passively maintains indoor comfort without ongoing energy costs or reliance on complex systems. Additionally, external shading enhances occupant comfort by minimising glare and maintaining more comfortable indoor temperatures, making it a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to excessive mechanical cooling.
